Details
What is included with the personal risk assessment?
-
30 minute appointment to review your personal and family health history
-
Discussion of familial health risks identified
-
Determination of whether genetic testing is clinically indicated

You will receive a copy of your pedigree (family tree) and a written summary of the appointment
What if genetic testing is recommended?
If you are interested in pursuing genetic testing, a second follow-up appointment can be made to discuss genetic testing options. The risk assessment fee will count towards the fee for the full appointment (proactive or personal history). During the second appointment we will also discuss possible results, benefits and limitations of genetic testing, and how the results could impact your future healthcare decisions and your family members.
Can my partner, family member, or friend attend?
Yes, you are welcome to have a guest attend the consultation, as long as they live in a state HealthyGene serves.
Does HealthyGene accept insurance?
We currently do not accept insurance for our genetic counseling services. However, we can provide a superbill upon request which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Please note, this is for our pre-test and result consultations only. The genetic testing itself may be covered by your insurance.
